Mail rooms can be one of the more vulnerable areas of an organisation as items are regularly admitted to it without prior screening. This can allow an improvised explosive device or dangerous substance to enter the building undetected. To reduce this threat, we are able to develop designs and procedures for secure mail scanning facilities within a building.
Our mail scanning facility designs are tailored to the needs and perceived threats specific to a particular organisation. For example, there may be the risk of a small improvised explosive device being delivered. In this instance, the mail room would need to be designed to ensure any damage is limited to that room and does not affect the rest of the building. If there is a risk of a delivered pathogen, the mail scanning facility can be designed to ensure the substance is not released into the building ventilation system.
