As concerns about the environment and the impact of climate change increasingly continue to grow, QCIC continues to take measures to ensure that we create a valuable impact that is in alignment with the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. As a global security consulting firm, sustainability is one of our priorities and we are committed to taking proactive steps to ensure that our operations align with environmental and social goals.
Recently we committed to a beach clean-up activity at Milnerton Beach in the Western Cape, South Africa. The event was organised by the Cape Town hub team and involved security consultants and other members of the team who collected harmful litter and debris on the beach. The initiative was held in high spirits, with everyone taking time to appreciate the local beach environment and the ongoing need to keep it clean and healthy. In total, the team filled up 14 rubbish bags and successfully managed to clean up the designated area.
This type of activity is important because it aligns with the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 14: Life Below Water, which focuses on the conservation and sustainable use of our oceans and marine resources. Managing our ocean is crucial to creating a sustainable future, as it regulates the planet’s rainwater, drinking water, weather, climate, coastlines, food, and even the oxygen in the air we breathe. By taking steps to conserve and protect our oceans, we are helping to create a healthier planet for future generations.
However, our commitment to sustainability extends beyond beach clean-ups and marine conservation efforts. We continuously look for ways to reduce our environmental impact through day-to-day operations. Our pledge to reach Net Zero, maintain our ISO 14001 accreditation, and continue our Carbon Neutral Plus status, is all credit to that. These initiatives reflect QCIC’s commitment to creating a sustainable future for all, and we encourage other organizations and individuals to take action towards sustainable development goals. We look forward to sharing our future sustainability initiatives for 2023 as we roll out a number of activities from our global hubs based in London, New York, Hong Kong, and South Africa. These activities will focus on reducing QCIC’s carbon footprint, promoting sustainable practices, and supporting local communities. We encourage other companies and individuals to take action towards sustainability as well. By working together, we can achieve a cleaner and healthier planet for all. We believe that every action counts, and even small steps towards sustainability can make a difference.
