In 2020, QCIC committed to the Pledge to Net Zero initiative. The next steps were for all signatories to set science based-targets in accordance with the Science Based Targets initiative’s guidance.

This guidance states that targets adopted by companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are considered to be science-based if they are in line with what latest climate science says is necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement i.e. to limit global warming to “well below” 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C.

We are proud to say that we have submitted our science based targets in line with the three scoped areas namely;

• Gas
• Electricity
• Business travel

This means that as a business, QCIC has committed to reducing these areas by 30% between now and 2030.
