About the role
We are seeking an experienced and independent technical security project manager to oversee the successful delivery of the security systems for a large building for our financial client. Other projects will follow and the individual needs to be experienced in a complex and fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate should have experience delivering larger multi-stage, multi-year projects working between operation security teams and professional design/construction teams
Initially, the PM will be embedded with the client and will work both at their offices and on-site.
What you will do
- Maintain an active and thoughtful communication pattern with all project stakeholders, internal and external, while balancing time versus profits to make sure efforts reflect an anticipated return (revenue, growth, and customer retention).
- Consistently and effectively determine, allocate, and maximise available resources through project planning to ensure the achievement of sales and project management objectives.
- Establish and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive practices as they relate to multiple markets.
- Implement changes in the project, contract pricing, and installation plans to include the estimation, development, and submission of change orders.
- Support the client’s invoicing and collection efforts by not only ensuring all contractual terms and conditions are met initially but also by ensuring all invoicing is completed accurately and on time.
- Manage project budget and project P&L.
- Prepares the project strategy, and installation plan, determines goals/objectives, manages the plan, and prepares and implements job procedures.
- Maintain construction schedules and coordinated task-scheduling with other trades.
- Maintain all records of job status, job changes, and material flow.
- Define the project risks by working with financial, contract management, and management tools to ensure project profitability.
- Plan and schedule engineering, installation, and subcontracting activities.
- Supervise installation labor and sub-contractors.
- Prioritize team workload to ensure quality results are delivered on time and within budget.
- Troubleshoot project issues and engage appropriate management and resources as needed to mitigate impacts.
- Develop fallback and contingency plans.
What we are looking for
- Experience with working with large electronic and protective security project management experience and security industry experience is a must.
- A proven track record relating to the ability to manage multi-million dollar security projects to schedule and budget.
- Expert knowledge of security design standards and project management techniques and tools; general knowledge of contract laws and regulations.
- Ability to assist in the enforcement of equipment installation standards, software configuration, solution deployment, and system testing & commissioning.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and documents.
- PMP from the Project Management Institute or CSPM from SIA is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, and perform tasks of moderate to high complexity, which requires knowledge of technical, business, and security risk environments.
- Factory certifications in relevant technology platforms and field deployment and configuration experience are a plus (i.e.; Honeywell, Genetec, Axis, etc.).
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

- Ability to conduct on-site construction walk-through inspections and attend on-site customer meetings.
- Willing to work in clients’ Dallas office and at job location.
