Junior IT Administrator

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Entry-Level IT Administrator. This role will involve providing technical support, maintaining IT systems, and assisting with various IT projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn.
What you will do
Be part of a Global IT team, providing process admin support including file and email organisation for projects and streamlining QCIC processes
Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in person
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates and backups
Monitor system performance and security
Assist with the implementation of IT projects, including network upgrades and software deployments.
Timeously resolve all IT administrative issues
Monitor and ensure that IT infrastructure within the computer facility is operational.
Manage escalation and follow-up/implementation.
Document technical procedures and configurations.
Collaborate with global team members to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.
Ticket Tracking and Feedback: Monitor the progress of open tickets, provide regular updates to user, and ensure that issues are resolved to the user’s satisfaction and within the SLA agreement.
Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and developments.

Essential requirements
Basic Networking Skills: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing.
User Support: Assisting users with IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
Security Awareness: Understanding of basic security principles and practices, such as access control and data protection.
Troubleshooting Skills: Methodical approach to problem-solving and experience in diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
Documentation Skills: Ability to create and maintain documentation for IT systems, processes, and procedures.
Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members and end-users, both verbally and in writing.
Backup and Disaster Recovery: Knowledge of backup strategies and experience in implementing disaster recovery plans.
Desirable requirements
Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Active Directory: Understanding of basic Active Directory concepts such as user and group management, permissions, and policies.
System Monitoring and Maintenance : Monitoring system performance, applying updates, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
Patch Management: Experience in managing software updates and patches across systems.
Scripting Skills: Basic scripting abilities in languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python for task automation.
ITIL Knowledge: Basic understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework and its processes.
