About the role
The Entry Level Service engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems and equipment. This includes working with various technologies such as IP video management systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and other related hardware and software. The installation manager will ensure systems are functioning optimally and provide technical support to clients and colleagues.
We are seeking a motivated and technically minded Entry-Level Service Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is early in their engineering career, eager to learn, and passionate about delivering excellent technical support and customer service.
Please note, you will receive full training and support to develop your skills in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our products and systems.
What you will do
- Assist in the Installation and configuration of security systems including IP video management systems, access control systems, alarm systems, and other security-related devices
- Support integrations for security systems with existing networks and ensure proper connectivity and functionality
- Perform routine maintenance checks and upgrades on security systems to ensure optimal performance
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues in a timely manner
- Respond to emergency repair requests and provide on-site support as needed
- Support senior engineers with diagnosing and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and calibration of equipment.
- Complete service reports, documentation, and follow proper escalation procedures.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support under supervision.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve technical problems promptly.
- Build positive working relationships with customers by delivering professional and timely service.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs
- Ensure all installations and services comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during all installations and repairs.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical knowledge and career development.
What we are looking for
Essential:
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems (through education or hands-on experience).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Code B driving licence and own vehicle
- Ability to travel to customer sites when required.
Desirable:
- Previous internship, apprenticeship, or work experience in a technical field.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools or testing equipment.
- Basic IT/networking knowledge.
